Duties
- Assist with animal restraint and handling during examinations, treatments, and procedures to ensure safety for both animals and staff
- Support veterinary technicians with medication administration, laboratory work, and sample collection following proper aseptic techniques
- Provide exemplary pet care and animal husbandry, including feeding, bathing, cleaning kennels, and maintaining clean treatment areas
- Help manage front desk responsibilities such as appointment scheduling, client check-ins, and answering general inquiries
- Maintain accurate records of animal treatments, medications administered, and laboratory results in compliance with clinic protocols
- Support specialized care for diverse species including dogs, cats, and equine patients by applying animal physiology and anatomy knowledge
- Assist with animal catheterization procedures and other veterinary technical tasks under supervision to enhance patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Prior kennel experience or animal handling experience in a veterinary or pet care setting is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and physiology to support clinical procedures effectively
- Experience with pet care routines such as feeding, grooming, restraint techniques, and medication administration
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures and aseptic techniques used in veterinary clinics
- Ability to handle multiple species including dogs and horses confidently and safely
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members in a professional manner
- Previous veterinary assistant or clinic experience is advantageous but not required; we provide training for motivated candidates
