Nordfab is in need of a Internal Transportation/ Material Handler
Hours: 1st shift, 6:45 am – 3:15 pm Monday – Saturday (As needed for Production Requirements)
Location: 105 Transit Avenue & 102 Transit Avenue, Thomasville, NC
Reports to: Material Handling Supervisor
This person must have a valid driver’s license.
Internal Transportation/ Material Handler
This role is for a transportation position with duties that include but are not limited to the following: This person will transport material between 2 sites. The sites are less than 1/2 mile away from each other.
- Drive flat-bed and box truck between 102 and 150 buildings, and outside warehouse to ensure necessary parts are available at each facility for daily production
- Loading and Unloading truck that consists of: Loose items, Pallets and Boxes as required for daily operations and shipments – verifying all parts are identified and labeled correctly
- Move items to and from storage, point of use, and picking locations as needed, including but not limited to:
o Components parts from QF or XD to their point of use work cells and communicate to work cell supervisor or team lead
o Angle flange rings to storage racks and place in designated location on rack
- Use computer and/or handheld scanner to systemically move items in AX and ASTRO, transferring parts to correct inventory locations.
- Use computer tablet to monitor Teams chat for specific requests
- Assist in unloading third party trucks with Pallet Jack, Hand Jack, Forklift as needed.
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Work Environment:
- Work is performed in a production environment where disruptions occur frequently.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Physical Demands:
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance.
