About the Role & Our Company
Mr. Hankey's Toys is a growing manufacturer and e-commerce retailer of premium silicone adult novelty products. This full-time role is split 50% administrative support and 50% shipping/QC.
You will spend approximately four hours per day on administrative tasks and four hours per day on shipping and production floor work (the exact split and order may change based on daily workload).
This position supports the daily flow of orders and production. You will move between desk work and the shipping/production area, so strong attention to detail, organization, and comfort with both computer work and hands-on tasks are essential.
Important: This role involves direct handling of adult novelty products (silicone toys). Candidates must be 18+ and comfortable working in an adult-oriented industry. Please confirm this in your application.
Many of our production artists speak primarily Spanish, so bilingual Spanish/English skills are a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities
Administrative Support (approx. 50%)
- Manage high-volume customer emails: order status, changes, address corrections, cancellations, refunds, discounts, and product questions
- Process returns, reshipments, replacements, and warranty claims
- Communicate with carriers (FedEx, USPS, etc.) for tracking, address corrections, and claims
- Assist with printing, coding, and preparing production orders
- Assist with wholesale POs, invoices, and record keeping
- Assist with e-commerce orders in Magento and Amazon FBA operations as needed
- Maintain Excel spreadsheets for tracking and reporting
Shipping, QC & Production Support (approx. 50%)
- Perform quality control inspections on finished toys
- Trim silicone toys to production standards
- Shrink wrap and package products
- Box orders accurately and prepare them for shipment
- Create shipping labels, customs forms, and commercial invoices
- Conduct daily walkthroughs of shipping areas to prioritize rush/delayed orders
- Verify addresses and shipping details before packages leave
- Assist the production team with order questions and maintain high accuracy standards
Requirements & Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in customer service, order processing, fulfillment, warehouse, or manufacturing preferred
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel (and Word)
- Exceptional attention to detail — required for both administrative and hands-on production work
- Comfortable performing physical tasks: standing, walking the production floor, handling products, trimming, shrink wrapping, and boxing
- Ability to work full-time on-site in National City, CA
- Bilingual Spanish/English strongly preferred (English fluency required)
- Must be 18+ and comfortable working with adult novelty products. Please confirm this in your application.
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
- Experience with Magento, ShipStation, OrderSpace, PayPal/Braintree, or Amazon FBA is a plus (training available)
