JOB SUMMARY:
* To perform resistance/spot welding, brazing, and cutting using welding equipment.
* To join, fabricate, and repair metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques.
* Assemble products and product parts to established blueprint and engineering specifications.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Receives instructions, prints, and work orders for the job. Plans details of working procedure and tools and material requirements.
Fabricates equipment by cutting, burning, and welding various metals. Repairs equipment by using welding techniques and appropriate welding equipment.
Cleans and prepares surfaces to be welded. Sets up, assembles, and spot/welds.
Builds up worn or defective surfaces.
Keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly.
Weld aluminum products and parts.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in blueprint reading.
Skilled using Resistance Spot Welding equipment is required.
Certificates required; completion of formal apprenticeship program or completion of in-company training program.
Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent in the field or in a related area.
Requires metal fabrication experience in the field of welding, with a focus on TIG and Resistance Spot Welding of Aluminum.
Requires familiarity with a variety of the welding field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.
Work involves varying degrees of precision and control where damage could be considerable.
Work involves considerable stooping, bending, and working in overhead structures. Considerable glare emits from work, requiring the wearing of personal protective equipment.
Manual dexterity skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
