Job Description:
An established liquor store in East Brunswick, NJ is looking for reliable, motivated, and customer-focused individuals to join our team. We are hiring for Cashier, Liquor Store Associate, Assistant Manager, and Store Manager positions.
We are seeking team members who are passionate about customer service, have an interest in wine and spirits, and can work in a fast-paced retail environment. Candidates must be trustworthy, punctual, professional, and willing to contribute to daily store operations.
Responsibilities Include:
- Provide excellent customer service and assist customers with product selections and recommendations
- Operate POS system, process transactions, and handle cash accurately
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked checkout area and sales floor
- Verify customer IDs to ensure compliance with legal drinking age requirements
- Assist customers with wine, beer, and spirit selections
- Stock shelves, organize displays, and maintain overall store appearance
- Support inventory management, product placement, and merchandising activities
- Assist with lottery operations and daily store procedures
- Open and/or close the store as required
- Train and support team members (management positions)
- Assist with employee scheduling and daily operational tasks
- Maintain relationships with vendors and support product promotions
- Assist with social media updates and store marketing activities
- Participate in seasonal displays and in-store promotional events
Requirements – Cashier / Associate:
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Prior retail or customer service experience preferred
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Basic math skills and ability to handle cash accurately
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to work independently and take direction
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Liquor store or lottery experience is a plus
Requirements – Assistant Manager / Store Manager:
- 2–5+ years of liquor store, retail sales, or management experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of wine, beer, and spirits from various regions
- Experience managing, training, and scheduling employees
- Ability to oversee store operations and front-end activities
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with merchandising, inventory management, and vendor relationships
- Comfortable using computers, MS Excel, social media platforms, and NJ Lottery systems
- Ability to multitask while maintaining excellent customer service
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs
Schedule:
- Full-time and part-time positions available
- Flexible scheduling
- Day, evening, weekend, and holiday availability required for certain positions
- Store hours may include evening shifts (2 PM – 10 PM)
