Join our dynamic culinary team as a Kitchen Helper and play a vital role in supporting the smooth operation of our food service environment. As a Kitchen Helper, you will assist with a variety of tasks that ensure our kitchen runs efficiently, safely, and hygienically, contributing to delivering high-quality meals and excellent service.
Duties
- Assist with food preparation by washing, peeling, chopping, and organizing ingredients for cooking and meal assembly
- Support cooking activities by preparing basic dishes under supervision and ensuring proper food handling procedures are followed
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen workstations, utensils, and equipment to uphold food safety standards
- Help with food service tasks such as plating, serving, and replenishing supplies during meal times
- Follow all safety guidelines related to food handling, knife skills, and sanitation to prevent contamination and accidents
- Aid in inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying staff of stock levels or shortages
- Support catering events or special meal preparations as needed to ensure timely delivery of quality food
Requirements
- Previous experience in dietary departments, dietary aide roles, or the food industry is highly desirable
- Familiarity with menu planning, food preparation techniques, and cooking methods
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures
- Experience working in restaurants or catering environments is a plus
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation are beneficial
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward supporting culinary staff and serving customers
