Salon Lead Coordinator (Roscoe Village)
Location: Exsalonce Salon – 2150 W. Roscoe St., Chicago, IL
Schedule: Part-time or Full-time, Tuesday–Saturday (Hours based on availability and business needs)
Compensation: Base salary plus performance bonuses based on salon growth

We’re looking for a Salon Lead Coordinator to help us elevate every guest interaction, drive salon success, and support our talented team in achieving their goals.
Position Overview
The Salon Lead Coordinator ensures that every guest enjoys a seamless, five-star experience while overseeing daily salon operations. This role combines leadership, organization, and sales strategy to help the salon meet and exceed its service and retail goals.

Salon Operations
- Oversee all daily salon operations and ensure the salon runs efficiently from open to close.
- Anticipate operational issues and proactively solve problems.
- Maintain salon standards, cleanliness, organization, and overall presentation.
- Ensure all salon systems, procedures, and protocols are consistently followed.
- Monitor appointments, scheduling, workflow, and daily productivity.
Key Responsibilities Guest Experience & Front Desk Leadership
- Greet and check in guests, ensuring every visit begins and ends with exceptional service.
- Answer phones professionally, book appointments accurately, and manage guest inquiries with care and confidence.
- Maintain an organized, welcoming, and visually appealing front desk and retail area.
Sales & Goal Achievement
- Help drive salon service and retail sales.
- Clearly communicate salon service and retail goals to the team.
- Track progress and help develop strategies to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly benchmarks.
- Coach team members on upselling, client retention, and productivity strategies to drive overall growth.
Team Leadership & Support
- Lead and support daily floor operations with professionalism and positivity.
- Motivate, mentor, and hold team members accountable to achieve their goals.
- Conduct regular check-ins and provide ongoing coaching.
- Train new employees on salon systems, guest service standards, and operational procedures.
Recruiting and Hiring
- Recruiting stylists and salon professionals.
- Building relationships with cosmetology schools.
- Attending career fairs and networking events.
- Conducting interviews.
- Following up with candidates throughout the hiring process.
- Coordinating onboarding for new hires.
Event Planning & Business Development
- Plan and execute engaging salon events that promote services and attract new guests.
- Build partnerships with local businesses to strengthen community visibility.
- Identify opportunities to improve guest retention and overall brand awareness.
Administrative & Strategic Support
- Track sales, service data, and performance metrics to support business objectives.
- Assist ownership with strategic planning and operational initiatives.
- Maintain consistency with Exsalonce’s “12 Points of Difference” to ensure an exceptional guest experience.
Qualifications
- 2–3 years of experience as a Salon Lead Coordinator, Assistant Manager, or Front Desk Manager (salon or retail environment preferred).
- Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.
- Excellent customer service and multitasking abilities.
- Proven record of meeting or exceeding sales and performance goals.
- Proficiency with Meevo, Mindbody, or Vagaro (or similar booking systems).
- Skilled in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and Canva.
- Familiarity with current hair trends, colors, and styles.
- Social media content creation experience (especially Instagram) is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; business-related degree preferred.
- Cosmetology license a plus, but not required.
- Must be available to work retail hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
