TCDN is seeking a passionate and dedicated Full-Time (12 months) Kindergarten Complement Teacher to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this role, you will play a vital part in fostering a nurturing, engaging, and inclusive learning environment for young children. Your enthusiasm for early childhood development, combined with your expertise in curriculum development and classroom management, will inspire young learners to explore, discover, and grow. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children's educational journeys while working within a supportive and dynamic team. Our program is located within the Wallingford-Swarthmore School District.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that incorporate literacy, math, physical education, and creative activities aligned with curriculum standards.
- Foster a positive classroom atmosphere by applying effective behavior management strategies and adapting to diverse learning styles.
- Monitor and assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments, utilizing data to tailor instruction.
- Collaborate with co-teachers, parents, and specialists to support children with special needs or those requiring early intervention services.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance data, attendance, and developmental milestones in compliance with educational regulations.
- Support the development of social-emotional skills through mentoring, storytelling, and inclusive activities that promote respect and cooperation.
Requirements
- Proven experience teaching young children in a classroom setting, preferably within early childhood or private school environments.
- Must have PA Early /Kindergarten Learning Standards & Keystone STARS Standards knowledge.
- Knowledge of the Emergent or Creative Curriculum is desired.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
- Familiarity with lesson planning & daily schedules
- Supervision experience is a plus
- ECE certification is a preferred
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate various learning styles and individual needs, along with experience working with children with special needs
This position will start mid-August, 2026.
