JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for ensuring the bank’s lending activities are in compliance with established laws, regulations, credit policies and procedures. Establishes systems, procedures, reports and training to monitor lending unit compliance with Loan Policy and credit culture. Assists with strategic planning and implementation of strategic initiatives,loan policy development and compliance processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reports to and works with governance bodies to inform on credit risk status, new developments and performance monitoring.
- Lead the development, preparation, distribution and presentation of monthly Directors' Loan Committee reports including, but not limited to, calculations of past due loans, non-accrual loans, criticized and classified loans, other real estate owned and charge-offs.
- Direct the preparation of the quarterly allowance for credit loss models and its supporting documentations, model validations, and related activities.
- Lead data scientists on analyses, models and methodologies for loan performance evaluation, pricing models and loss estimation.
- Provide Board and senior leadership with recommendations tied to analysis and assessment of credit risk (https://corporatefinanceinstitute.com/risk-averse-definition).
- Participate in the Bank’s capital analysis and stress test processes. Identify required data and work with data stewards to receive data on a timely basis.
- Oversee the bank’s workout and collection efforts, including the Special Assets Department and Collections Department.
- Work with Accounting, Financial Planning and treasury for credit risk analytics and credit data presentment in various internal and external financial reports.
- Present findings and recommendations of credit analytics and policy to senior leadership.
- Keep up to date with the company’s lending protocols.
- Working group, committee or liaison representing credit risk, e.g., business continuity, model risk management, and data governance.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Undergraduate College/University Degree in finance, operations, or credit/banking.
- MBA or technically advanced degree preferred from a major university.
- Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude
- Cross Functional Leadership
- Strong communication skills
- Has formal credit experience of at least 10-12 years
