Shandy Last Mile Logistics (DSP) is looking for a Part-Time Fleet Compliance Specialist to support our fleet by conducting detailed vehicle inspections, ensuring regulatory compliance, and helping maintain a safe, reliable, and operational fleet. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, has an eye for detail, and takes pride in identifying issues before they become larger problems.

What You'll Do
- Conduct routine safety inspections on company vans and fleet equipment.
- Verify compliance with all regulations and company safety standards.
- Ensure inspections are completed on brakes, tires, lights, mirrors, safety equipment, and overall vehicle condition.
- Identify maintenance concerns before they become larger mechanical issues.
- Complete inspection reports and maintain accurate digital documentation.
- Review driver pre-trip and post-trip inspection reports and verify that reported issues are addressed.
- Assist with vehicle damage assessments and incident investigations.
- Verify completed repairs before vehicles are returned to service.
- Audit fleet equipment for missing safety items, expired permits, or compliance deficiencies.
- Assist drivers on proper vehicle inspection procedures and fleet safety expectations.
- Partner with Management, Operations, and Maintenance to improve fleet readiness and compliance.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of vehicle systems, including brakes, suspension, electrical systems, and hydraulics.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify small issues before they become major problems.
- Strong communication skills with drivers, mechanics, leadership, and vendors.
- Experience using inspection software, telematics systems, or digital reporting tools.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Ability to climb, bend, crawl, lift, and inspect vehicles in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license.
- Must pass a background check and drug screen.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in transportation, logistics, or fleet operations.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs.
- AMZL DSP experience (preferred but not required).
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Success in this role will be measured by:
- Reduction in out-of-service violations.
- Internal and external inspection pass rates.
- Time-to-repair for identified maintenance concerns.
- Accuracy and completeness of inspection reports.
- Vehicle uptime and overall fleet reliability.
What We Offer
- Starting Pay: $18.00 per hour
- Approximately 20 hours per week
- Evening schedule (4–5 days per week, shifts beginning after 4:00 PM)
