Field Service Technician – Thermal Fluid Systems (Remote + Travel)
Pay: $40/hr + Overtime
Location: Fully Remote (Extensive Travel Required)
Schedule: Typically 40 hours/week + occasional weekends
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Field Service Technician with a strong background in thermal fluid systems and process heating equipment. This role is ideal for someone with excellent electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills who enjoys working independently in the field and traveling to customer sites across the U.S. and occasionally internationally.
This is a hands-on position responsible for equipment startup, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and customer support for industrial heating systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Commission and start up new thermal fluid heating systems
- Perform preventive maintenance and field service on existing equipment
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and process-related system issues
- Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) before equipment shipment
- Complete detailed service reports and documentation after each job
- Support spare parts recommendations and sales when needed
- Travel to customer facilities for installation, repairs, and service calls
- Assist with customer training and onboarding of new service technicians
- Ensure all work is completed safely and professionally
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of field service experience with process heating equipment
- Strong experience with thermal fluid systems preferred
- Boiler-only experience may be considered, but thermal fluid experience is highly preferred
- Strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
- Practical understanding of:
- Heat transfer
- Thermodynamics
- Fluid dynamics
- Experience using testing tools, analyzers, and diagnostic equipment
- Ability to work independently in industrial environments
- Comfortable climbing ladders and working around industrial machinery
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Valid driver’s license required
- Must be able to obtain a passport for occasional international travel
Travel Requirements
- Travel can reach up to 80% during busy periods
- Occasional weekend work required
- Some international travel may be required
