The Registered Nurse will be present and circulate for every surgical event at Payroll Express, LLC. All patients admitted to the facilities will be cared for pre operatively and post operatively by a Registered Nurse who is qualified and competent to provide such care.
About the Role
The Pre-Op, Circulator, PACU Registered Nurse will be responsible for interviewing the patient in preop, transporting the patient to the procedure room, assisting anesthesiologist with placing monitors, positioning the patient, assisting the MD during the procedure, accurate handling of specimens, and transporting the patient to PACU.
About You
- Current RN state licensure.
- Minimum 1 year ASC experience
- Six months of recent perioperative experience Pre-Op, Circulator, PACU
- Current BCLS and ACLS certification obtained within six months of hire.
- 1 year recent experience in a multi-specialty hospital or surgical center. Conscious Sedation experience is a plus.
- Experience in Ortho, Spine, Pain, and GI

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- The Staff RN must be able to engage in physical activities on a daily basis. As a direct patient care provider, the Staff RN will maintain:
- Hepatitis immunization (will be provided at no cost to the employee) or documented refusal to be vaccinated.
- Evidence of negative Mantoux annually or chest X-ray every two years (will be provided at no cost to the employee).
- Ability to maintain extensive standing, moderated sitting, retracting and assisting in the transfer of patients with appropriate number of personnel and/or devices.
- Physical ability to perform CPR.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds, instrumentation or equipment.
- Identifies priorities and executes nursing care accordingly.
- Provides emotional support and comfort measures.
- Gives information or explanation to patients and their families as warranted.
- Ensures and respects the patient’s rights, privacy and dignity.

- Acts as a scrub/circulating nurse during the Perioperative phase.
- Performs sponge/sharps counts with the scrubbed person.
- Identifies, labels, and dispenses medication and solutions safely.
- Applies principles of proper body alignment during the transfer and positioning of
- patients.
- Ensures safety of the patient during the use of electrical equipment.
- Labels out of service and reports malfunctioning equipment to appropriate persons.
- Completes return to service documentation.
- Preps the surgical site using aseptic technique, cross referencing for patient’s allergies or sensitivities.
- Correctly collects and accurately labels specimens.
- Confines and contains sources of contamination.
- Properly cares for instruments and equipment.
- Coordinates the activities of other health professionals during surgical intervention, as necessary; controls traffic around the sterile field.
- Directs and guides support personnel.
- Documents Perioperative care.
- Revises physician preference cards, as needed.
- Accurately and promptly documents unusual occurrences noted during the perioperative phase.
- Participates in the evaluation of new supplies, equipment and/or instruments.
- Demonstrates the practical application of universal blood and body substance procedure, as well as the proper handling of other hazardous substances. Knows where to locate and how to access information in Right to Know manual.

Pay: $55.00 - $70.00 per hour
