Part-Time Tuesday Nanny/Babysitter for 2-Year-Old – Tahoe Park
We are looking for a reliable, caring, and engaging nanny/babysitter for our active 2-year-old son in Tahoe Park, about 10 minutes southeast of downtown Sacramento.
Schedule & Pay
- Start date: August 25
- Tuesdays: approximately 10:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
- Pay: $20/hour, depending on experience
- Position expected to continue through approximately December 16
- Possible backup Thursday hours from 10:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
- Potential for additional babysitting/date-night opportunities
- We are both teachers, so we generally do not need regular care during summers and school breaks
About the Job
Our main priority is finding someone who will keep our son safe, play with him, and genuinely interact with him throughout the day. He is active, playful, and loves having someone engage with him.
We are a screen-free home while our nanny is caring for him, so we are looking for someone who enjoys playing, reading, going outside, and doing simple age-appropriate activities.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive and safe care for our 2-year-old
- Play and interact with him throughout the day
- Read books and engage in age-appropriate activities
- Prepare or serve simple meals and snacks
- Handle diaper changes and normal toddler routines
- Keep his play/eating areas reasonably tidy
- Communicate with us about how the day went
- Occasionally complete very light household tasks during downtime/naps, such as:
- Mopping the kitchen floor
- Chopping vegetables or doing simple meal prep
- Tidying toys
What We're Looking For
- Reliable and dependable—consistent Tuesday availability is very important
- Previous experience caring for toddlers preferred
- Comfortable caring for an active 2-year-old
- Able to safely lift/carry approximately 35 pounds
- Patient, compassionate, and attentive
- Comfortable in a screen-free caregiving environment
- CPR/First Aid certification is highly preferred
- Good communication with parents
