POSITION SUMMARY
Maintain production equipment to ensure proper function and to prevent interruption of production process. Duties include production equipment disassembly, component repair/replacement, involving centrifugal and positive displacement pumps, centrifugal and positive displacement blowers, valves, flanges, gaskets, seals, spray nozzles, conveyor belts, screw conveyors, centrifuge and PRD
- Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
- Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
- Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
- Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
- Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
- Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
- Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience repairing and troubleshooting.
- Holds a valid welding certificate
- Ability to read equipment drawings
- Demonstrate ability to perform proper torque on bolted joints
- Must know and understand the correct way of removing and installing bearings into rotating equipment
- Must know how to install seals into pumps and make all relevant checks
- Ability to climb ladders and stairways
- Ability to work overtime daily and on weekends and to have flexibility with shift hours is required.
- Ability to perform alignment using the dial indicator method
- Ability to perform measurements with a micrometer
- Have knowledge of Confined space permit, Line breaking permits and Hot work permits.
- Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
- Intermediate knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, and plumbing
- Basic mechanical and cutting skills
- Should be capable of reading mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic prints.
- Good problem-solving skills, safety practices and attention to quality.
- Have basic workbench and computer skills.
- Qualified laser alignment
- Intermediate knowledge of pipefitting
- Crane operator certification
