American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Behavioral Health inpatient position in Hickory, NC, requiring at least 2 years of experience and CPI or Handle with Care (HWC) certification.

Inpatient behavioral health unit within an 81-bed adult Behavioral Health Hospital on the South Campus of a 355-bed Duke LifePoint facility

Five inpatient psychiatric units with varying census sizes (10–23 beds); patient-to-RN ratios range from 10:1 to 23:2, with CNA support on all units

Adult patient population with common diagnoses including schizophrenia, dementia, manic bipolar disorder, psychosis, dual diagnosis, medical detox, depression, and anxiety disorders

Charting via Cerner EHR

Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
-
Every other weekend required
-
No on-call requirements

Active NC RN license or a Compact RN license required

AHA BLS certification required (AHA-issued certifications required for all certs)

CPI or Handle with Care (HWC) certification required for consideration

Minimum 2 years of RN behavioral health experience required

Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration

13-week contract

Handle with Care (HWC) training can be provided on-site if candidate does not already hold the certification

Any color scrubs are acceptable

Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates

Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible

Candidates who are employed full-time elsewhere are not eligible
