Austin Preparatory School is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and collaborative Development Associate to support the daily operations of the Development Office. Reporting to the Director of Development, this role is essential to advancing the Schools fundraising and alumni engagement efforts. The Development Associate is responsible for managing all gift processing, donor acknowledgements, and reporting, while maintaining accurate records of donor communications and interactions. This position also supports prospect research, prepares materials for donor meetings and visits, and assists with the coordination and execution of development events, including managing invitations and RSVPs.In addition, the Development Associate contributes to the creation of development communications such as appeals, newsletters, and website content, and ensures all development mailings are executed in a timely manner.
The role includes tracking matching gift requests through completion, generating reports on fundraising progress and donor retention, and supporting key initiatives such as the annual fund, giving days, and alumni events. Occasionally, the individual may manage a small prospect portfolio as directed. The ideal candidate demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.Qualifications: 35 years of experience working in development, advancement, or a related field, preferably in an academic or nonprofit environment.BS/BA degree preferred.Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.Demonstrated experience in a donor- or constituent-facing role with a track record of professional relationship managementHigh regard for confidentiality.Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously and willingness to support other school departments as needed.
