We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Retail Sales Associate to join our retail team. In this role, you will serve as the face of the store, delivering exceptional customer service while supporting sales, merchandising, and daily store operations. The ideal candidate is proactive, dependable, and passionate about pet care and creating positive shopping experiences.

Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with product selection, questions, and purchasing decisions
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately, including cash handling and credit card transactions
- Process returns and exchanges according to company policies
- Conduct product demonstrations and recommend complementary products to increase sales
- Maintain visual merchandising standards by stocking shelves and organizing displays
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate low stock or replenishment needs
- Provide professional and courteous service in person and over the phone
- Support promotional initiatives by educating customers on sales and special events
- Balance registers and complete end-of-shift procedures
- Assist with leadership responsibilities when needed to ensure smooth store operations
- Follow company policies related to safety, cleanliness, and customer privacy
Qualifications and Experience
- Previous retail or customer service experience preferred (training provided)
- Experience operating POS systems and handling cash transactions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Bilingual abilities are highly valued but not required
- Experience with upselling and product demonstrations preferred
- Basic math skills for transactions, discounts, and inventory counts
- Familiarity with merchandising and stock management practices
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
