The City of Jefferson is currently accepting applications for a Wastewater Treatment Plant Manager for our Public Works- Waterwater Treatment plant. This position oversees both Wastewater Treatment plants and related facilities and processes including all pump stations. Performs essential administrative tasks, supervises sludge land application, plans and supervises work of subordinates, conducts regular inspections of the plant, pump stations and all other facilities. Administers the pretreatment program and maintains contact with all industries, regulators and the general public.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Performs various administrative duties, including record keeping, filing reports, assisting with development of division budget and requisitioning equipment and supplies.
Supervises and directs sludge land application program, including maintaining good relations with land owners and keeping records of all sludge applied to each parcel of land. Plans, assigns, schedules and supervises work of personnel; counsels and trains subordinates; conducts performance evaluations; and converses daily with subordinate supervisors. Conducts inspection of equipment and facilities; supervises and directs collection of effluent and wastewater samples for testing; and confers with operating personnel. Maintains contacts with the public, including taking phone calls and meeting with visitors, vendors and consultants. Maintains an effective safety program and administers and approved pretreatment program.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Typical hours worked are Monday through Friday 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.
