Job Description: Cut Lead
Position Summary
The Cut Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the cut department, ensuring the safe, efficient, and accurate production of wood components. This role leads a team in manufacturing high-quality stick profiles, panels, and flooring products while maintaining production schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the cut department team.
- Set up, operate, and monitor saws and other cutting equipment.
- Ensure materials are cut accurately according to specifications and production schedules.
- Inspect products to verify quality standards are met before moving to the next production stage.
- Train new employees on equipment operation, safety procedures, and quality expectations.
- Monitor workflow and adjust staffing or priorities to meet production goals.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment following OSHA and company safety policies.
- Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
- Coordinate with production, milling, and shipping departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Track production output and minimize waste through efficient material usage.
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency.
- Maintain inventory of materials and cutting supplies as needed.
- Help in other departments as scheduled.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in wood products manufacturing, lumber processing, or a related field is a + but not required.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of lumber grades, wood species, and cutting processes.
- Ability to read production orders, blueprints, and measuring devices accurately.
- Experience operating industrial saws and woodworking equipment.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
