Join our dynamic team as a Gardening Associate and immerse yourself in the vibrant world of forest farming. We grow a number of trees and plants and need a Gardening Associate to help us.
Duties
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, pruning, edging, mulching, and planting to keep outdoor spaces vibrant and healthy
- Operate grounds maintenance equipment such as power tools, lawnmowers, trimmers, irrigation systems, and climbing gear safely and efficiently
- Identify various plant species, including native plants, and assess their health to implement appropriate care strategies
- Maintain irrigation systems to ensure optimal watering schedules for diverse plantings and landscapes
- Assist with planting new flora, transplanting existing plants, and supporting growing initiatives in garden beds or large-scale landscapes
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding landscape needs, project updates, and maintenance schedules to ensure satisfaction
Requirements
- Knowledge of horticulture principles including plant identification, growing techniques, and soil health management
- Familiarity with gardening tools, hand tools, power tools, and grounds equipment operation required for daily tasks
- Ability to work at heights or climb ladders safely when pruning or maintaining taller plants or trees
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration
- Physical stamina to perform outdoor work in various weather conditions
