Responsibilities

- Assist in menu planning by suggesting innovative ideas and ensuring adherence to dietary guidelines when applicable
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen appliances in compliance with food safety standards
- Handle food safely by practicing proper food handling techniques, including storage, temperature control, and sanitation procedures
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow and timely meal service
- Support catering events or special functions by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining quality control
Requirements
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments with a strong foundation in culinary techniques
- Knowledge of dietary department practices and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Skilled in food preparation, cooking methods, and recipe adherence
- Demonstrated ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Excellent knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques for various ingredients
- Familiarity with food safety management standards and safety protocols in production environments
- Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with kitchen staff and front-of-house teams
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
- Prior experience in catering or meal preparation is desirable but not mandatory
