Lookout Pass is looking for a Vehicle Mechanic who will perform all required maintenance on ski area winter and summer rolling stock. This includes light trucks, loaders, buses, vans, ATV’s, snow cats, hydraulics, diesel and both large and small gas engines. This position is responsible for the timely readiness of all seasonal equipment, vehicles, and works as a hands-on vehicle maintenance mechanic.

Who you are
· Sound knowledge in the repair and maintenance of diesel and gasoline powered equipment as well as electrical and hydraulic systems.
· Experience with snowcats, diesel engines, gasoline engines, hydraulic, and small engines preferred.
· Should have excellent comprehensive mechanical and trouble shooting skills or the desire to learn.
· Must be able to follow directions and complete tasks in a timely fashion.
· Basic welding and fabricating skills is preferred.
· Must have good communication skills: oral, written, and reading comprehension.
· Must have motivation to learn required job skills.
· Must pay close attention to details.
· Must have a valid drivers' license.
What you will do
- Timely maintain all seasonal equipment, vehicles, and works as a hands-on vehicle maintenance mechanic.
- Shop parts and inventory.
- Maintain a safe work environment.
- Work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor- Equipment is to be safe, reliable, productive, ready for work as needed and well maintained cosmetically.
- Work with the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure compliance with various AHJ/DOT programs.
- Work with the Maintenance Supervisor to maintain a winter and summer list of repair work to be done for each piece of equipment.
- Work with additional ski area staff to schedule repairs and preventive maintenance of equipment and vehicle fleet.
- Keep shop and shared space clean, organized.
- Maintain and ensure shop tools are organized and secure.
- Be willing and able to provide excellent customer service to all people at all times.
- Work with Maintenance Supervisor to maintain correct inventory of parts.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Must be able to work on your feet, stand, and walk for up to 8 hours at a time in all weather conditions. Some work may be outside in a high-alpine winter environment.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs. of material routinely unassisted and occasionally up to 100lbs.
- Must be able to reach in all directions, including overhead and flexible in range of motion.
- Must be able to perform functions required to operate all forms of routine office equipment, and communication systems.
