SUMMARY/SCOPE/GOAL
Works collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and school personnel to identify, evaluate, and provide
therapy services to students whose speech and/or language impairments adversely impact their ability to
perform and/or function in the typical learning environment.
EDUCATION AND RELEVANT EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:REQUIRED:
MA/MS or higher with a graduate major in Communication Disorders/Speech-Language Pathology from
and accredited educational institution and eligible for DOE certification or DOH License.
OR
BA/BA in Communication Disorders/Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited educational
institution and must be enrolled in Graduate-level coursework prior to expiration of temporary DOE
certification.
PREFERRED/DESIRED:
Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI Training) may be required by assignment.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/TRAINING:REQUIRED:
Eligibility for certification form the Florida Department of Education in Speech-Language Impaired
and/or Licensure from the Florida Department of Health in Speech-Language Pathology.
Valid State Drivers License.
PREFERRED/DESIRED:
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
(ASHA)
