ELECTRICAL ESTIMATOR (COMMERCIAL) – Fullerton, CA
Delta Construction Partners is a national executive search firm for the nation’s premier electrical and general contractors and industry professionals. Delta has been retained to conduct a search for an Electrical Estimator (Commercial) in the Los Angeles, California area.
Our Electrical Estimator collaborates with other estimators, clients, and suppliers to prepare and complete bid/submittals for electrical construction projects.
- Develop accurate and timely electrical construction estimates for competitive bids and proposals
- Analyze and interpret detailed drawings and specifications
- Determine and price value-engineered alternatives
- Perform budget pricing from schematic drawings and narratives
- Draft scope letters, proposals, and vendor solicitations
- Attend job walks, pre-bid meetings, and client/design collaboration meetings
- Lead estimating department functions, including mentoring junior staff and maintaining estimating systems/databases
- Work efficiently under tight deadlines while maintaining composure
- Prepare change orders and cost-to-complete estimates
- Help establish and communicate company estimating standards
- Review estimates for accuracy and completeness
- Perform project handoffs to operations, clearly outlining scope, specs, and job conditions
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or similar (preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years of electrical estimating experience on commercial projects up to $2M+
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge of electrical code requirements and basic engineering calculations (voltage drop, Ohm’s Law, conduit fill, wire ampacity, de-rating, etc.)
- Proficiency in MS Office, Accubid, Bluebeam
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Team-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work well with all levels of staff
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
