Groom & Goods is a modern, high-quality dog grooming boutique dedicated to exceptional care, education, and a stress-free experience for both pets and their owners. We are looking for a reliable, animal-loving Dog Bather / Receptionist to join our growing team.
Responsibilities
Dog Bathing & Pet Care
- Bathe, brush, dry, and prep dogs for grooming services
- Assist groomers with basic prep work (nails, ears, brushing when trained)
- Observe coat and skin condition and report any concerns to the groomer or manager
- Handle dogs safely and calmly using proper restraint techniques
- Ensure each pet has a positive, stress-free experience
Front Desk & Reception
- Greet clients warmly and create a welcoming environment
- Answer phones, schedule appointments, and manage check-ins/check-outs
- Communicate clearly with pet parents about services, timing, and basic care needs
- Collect payments and maintain accurate client and pet records
Facility & Team Support
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic workspace
- Sanitize tubs, tools, cages, and common areas
- Assist with daily opening and closing duties
- Support the team during busy periods in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
- Genuine love for dogs and comfort working with all breeds and sizes
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to stay calm, organized, and efficient in a busy setting
- Basic animal handling experience preferred (professional or personal)
- Prior experience as a dog bather, kennel assistant, vet assistant, or receptionist is a plus but not required
- Willingness to learn grooming prep skills and pet care best practices
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
