Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Security & Patient Transport Specialist to provide internal and external security services while ensuring safe and compassionate transportation for patients and staff within our healthcare facility. This essential role responds to hospital emergencies, assists with patient management, and supports a safe and secure environment through therapeutic communication and de-escalation strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety of patients, staff, visitors, and hospital property through proactive security measures.
- Provide transportation for patients and staff as needed, following all safety and procedural guidelines.
- Respond promptly to hospital emergencies and behavioral health situations with professionalism and control.
- Utilize therapeutic communication skills and approved de-escalation techniques to manage potentially volatile situations.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of and strict compliance with all patient safety policies and procedures.
- Actively support the National Patient Safety Goals as outlined and implemented within the facility.
- Assist with routine patrols, incident reporting, and emergency response coordination.
- Adhere to hospital policies regarding attendance, punctuality, mandatory overtime, and inclement weather operations.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience in security, healthcare, or patient transport is preferred.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to emergency situations.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including mandatory overtime, and during inclement weather events.
- Must be able to perform duties while standing or walking for extended periods and assisting in physically demanding situations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
