Infection Preventionist

Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough investigations of patient safety incidents and develop corrective actions to prevent future occurrences
Develop, implement, and maintain infection control policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory guidelines
Provide education and training to staff on infection prevention and control measures, as well as patient safety practices
Monitor and track infection rates, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to reduce the risk of infection
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to identify and address potential infection control risks
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety committees
Maintain accurate records and reports related to infection control and patient safety
Requirements:
Current LPN or RN license in the state of Michigan
Knowledge of infection control principles and practices
Willingness to obtain Infection Preventionist Certification
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks accordingly
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
