Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Registered Dietitian Consultant to join our healthcare team in a senior living community, committed to improving patient health outcomes through personalized nutrition care. Project will last approximately 2 months. In this vital role, you will assess individual nutritional needs, develop tailored care plans, and provide expert guidance to support recovery, weight management, and overall wellness. Your expertise will help empower patients across diverse settings, including acute care, long-term care, and geriatrics, fostering a culture of health and vitality. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to evaluate nutritional status and identify dietary needs.
- Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans aligned with medical diagnoses and treatment goals.
- Provide expert counseling on topics such as weight loss, health coaching, tube feeding, and dietary modifications for chronic conditions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care strategies, ensuring seamless integration of nutrition services within treatment plans.
- Monitor patient progress through diagnostic evaluation and adjust nutrition interventions accordingly.
- Supervise dietary department staff, ensuring adherence to best practices and quality standards.
- Document all patient interactions and care plans accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Educate patients and their families on nutrition principles, lifestyle changes, and long-term health maintenance.
- Stay current with advances in physiology knowledge, dietetics practices, and hospital protocols to deliver evidence-based care.
Qualifications
- Registered Dietitian (RD) credential required; licensure as applicable by state or region.
- Proven experience in hospital settings with exposure to acute care environments.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, nutrition science, and dietetics principles.
- Experience supervising staff within dietary or healthcare departments preferred.
- Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation and patient record management.
- Hands-on experience with dietary management in long-term care or geriatrics is highly desirable.
- Expertise in managing tube feeding protocols and creating comprehensive care plans for diverse patient populations.
- Excellent patient assessment skills with the ability to deliver effective health coaching sessions.
- Knowledge of diagnostic evaluation techniques related to nutritional status assessment.
- Background in weight loss programs or clinical nutrition interventions for chronic conditions is advantageous.
