Duties
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as slicing, chopping, and portioning ingredients following recipe guidelines and safety standards
- Operate basic kitchen equipment including mixers, ovens, and knives with proper technique and safety precautions
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and cooking areas to ensure hygiene and compliance with food safety regulations
- Support meal assembly and plating processes to ensure timely service delivery
- Help with inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying supervisors of stock needs
- Follow established safety procedures during all food handling and cooking activities
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth kitchen operations
Qualifications
- Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable
- Familiarity with menu planning, food preparation, and cooking techniques including slicing methods and recipe adherence
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and proper food handling procedures
- Experience operating kitchen equipment safely within a food industry or restaurant environment
