Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration to ensure health stability
- Support residents with memory care needs, including dementia and Alzheimer’s care, using specialized techniques to promote safety and comfort
- Administer medications following prescribed protocols and document all medication activities accurately using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
- Engage residents in social activities, recreational programs, and group outings to enhance their quality of life
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by assisting with light housekeeping tasks like cleaning resident areas and ensuring infection control standards are met
- Utilize manual handling equipment such as Hoyer lifts to safely assist with transfers and mobility needs
- Respond promptly to emergency situations with first aid or CPR when necessary, adhering to safety procedures at all times
Skills
- Proven experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care environments with a focus on geriatrics or senior care
- Strong knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, and behavior management strategies
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities requiring personal support
- Competence in medication administration, vital signs measurement, and basic health monitoring techniques
- Excellent caregiving skills combined with patience, empathy, and strong communication abilities
- Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation; experience with home & community care is a plus
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting, manual handling tasks, driving residents when needed, and working on your feet for extended periods
