As we grow our residential pipeline, we’re looking for a motivated Assistant Superintendent to support our field teams and develop into a future project leader.
The Assistant Superintendent supports the Project Superintendent in managing day-to-day construction activities on single-family, townhome, and multifamily residential jobsites, helping ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence. This is a hands-on field role designed to develop future superintendents, offering direct exposure to subcontractor coordination, scheduling, and quality control on active residential projects. The ideal candidate is organized, safety-minded, and eager to grow into greater field leadership responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
Site Supervision & Subcontractor Coordination

Assist the Superintendent with daily site supervision, trade sequencing, and coordination of subcontractor crews.

Conduct daily jobsite walkthroughs to confirm trade partners are staffed, staged, and working to plan.

Help resolve minor field conflicts and escalate scope, schedule, or safety issues to the Superintendent as needed.
Safety & Quality Compliance

Help enforce jobsite safety programs and PPE requirements, and participate in weekly safety meetings and toolbox talks.

Monitor work quality against plans, specifications, and Wasatch Construction Partners’ quality standards.

Assist with trade inspections, rough-in walks, and punch list creation and completion.

Support final walkthroughs and homeowner/ownership handoff on completed units.
Scheduling & Field Reporting

Track daily progress against the master schedule and flag potential delays early.

Assist with daily field reports, photo documentation, and jobsite logs.

Support short-term (2–3 week) look-ahead planning and material lead-time tracking.
Site Logistics & Organization

Coordinate material deliveries, staging, and site logistics to keep the jobsite organized and efficient.

Maintain site cleanliness, signage, and overall professionalism in accordance with company and jurisdictional standards.
Communication

Communicate field issues, schedule risks, and quality concerns promptly to the Superintendent and Project Manager.

Interface professionally with subcontractors, inspectors, vendors, and homeowners/clients on-site.
Qualifications Required

High school diploma or equivalent; relevant coursework or certification in construction management is a plus.

1–3 years of experience in residential construction, whether as a carpenter, laborer, field engineer, or similar hands-on role.

Basic understanding of residential building codes, construction sequencing, and jobsite safety practices.

Ability to read and interpret residential blueprints, plans, and specifications.

Comfortable using smartphone/tablet-based field tools (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, or similar).

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to multiple jobsites. Must Live within a 60-mile radius of Spicewood, Texas.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Qualifications Preferred

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field.

OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.

Experience with production or semi-custom homebuilding in the Utah / Wasatch Front market.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus for coordinating with trade crews.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

Primarily a field-based role requiring daily presence on active residential construction jobsites.

Ability to walk uneven terrain, climb ladders and stairs, and access all areas of a construction site.

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. occasionally (materials, tools, samples).

Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times on active jobsites.

Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions and standard construction site hazards.

Some early morning, evening, or weekend availability may be required during critical project milestones.
