Rochester Beacon Academy is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Part-Time School Janitor to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming learning environment for our students and staff. Essential Responsibilities
- Clean classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, and common areas.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust throughout the building.
- Empty trash and recycling containers.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms.
- Replenish restroom and cleaning supplies.
- Set up and take down tables and chairs for meetings and school events.
- Assist with seasonal cleaning projects, including floor care and window cleaning.
- Monitor the building for maintenance or safety concerns and report issues promptly.
- Help maintain the exterior of the building, including entrances and sidewalks as needed.
- Follow all safety procedures and proper use of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
- Perform other custodial duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous custodial or janitorial experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, bend, walk, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
- Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check.
