About the Role:
Furniture Mart is looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Retail Furniture Associate to join our team in New Orleans, LA! In this role, you'll help customers find the perfect pieces to make their house a home while working in a dynamic, people-first retail environment. Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist customers on the showroom floor, providing personalized furniture recommendations
- Drive retail sales by understanding customer needs, preferences, and budget
- Maintain in-depth product knowledge of furniture inventory, materials, and styles
- Process sales transactions accurately using point-of-sale (POS) systems
- Coordinate with the warehouse and delivery teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing showroom floor
- Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and follow-ups to ensure satisfaction
- Assist in setting uo furniture displays
Requirements:
- Prior retail sales or customer service experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Ability to meet and exceed individual and team sales goals
- Basic computer proficiency, including POS and inventory systems
- Ability to stand for extended periods and assist with light product staging
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays
