Process Technician
Job Description:
- The Process Technician is required to maintain control of processes for injection molding. Verify correct set-up of molds, processes and auxiliary equipment before machine start up. Establish proper molding conditions. Perform process monitoring and troubleshooting part inspections and various other functions to insure part conformity and quality.
- Identifies and corrects problems: applies experience and knowledge in making adjustments; documents changes; addresses questionable parts; and monitors and focuses on scrap reduction.
- Ensures product is consistent with product quality and adherence to the Quality System. Verify paperwork for jobs is completed at startup and shut down of production jobs.
- Responsible for performing mold and/or material changes as dictated by the schedule and helping to teach and train material handlers on an ongoing basis.
- Review work orders to insure the correct issuing of raw materials, packaging, inserts,etc.The ability to setup, start, troubleshoot injection molds and the injection molding process.
- Basic understanding of hydraulics as they apply to the Injection molding machine.
- Basic understanding of electricity and electronics as they apply to the molding floor. The ability to check fuses, change out heater bands, check voltages, for example.
- Read and follow the daily production schedule and prioritize work for improved efficiency
- Maintain setup sheets and record changes and problems that are encountered.
- Read and follow a control plan
Safety
- The team member must wear Personal Protective Equipment at all times.
- Must follow established Safety Procedures
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis
Quality
- Understand and be able to perform in-process inspection
- Must be able to enter production data when needed
- Follow company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Previous Experience with Injection Molding Processes
- Knowledge of automation and assembly a plus.
Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D.; Technical Certification preferred
Experience: 3-5 years with processes preferred. Experience with quality systems preferred
