For close to 20 years, Pets in the City has been Honolulu’s trusted neighborhood doggie daycare, boarding, and grooming facility. Locally owned and rooted in a love for animals, we pride ourselves on providing top-quality care in a safe, clean, and fun environment where dogs get to be dogs.
We are looking for enthusiastic, dependable, and dog-loving individuals to join our team as Animal Care Attendants. This is a physically active, fast-paced position ideal for someone who enjoys being on their feet and surrounded by wagging tails and playful pups.
What You’ll Do:
- Supervise and safely manage group play in our indoor daycare areas
- Monitor dog behavior and interactions, stepping in as needed to maintain a safe and positive environment
- Keep the facility clean and sanitary—daily tasks include laundry, dishes, sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting
- Assist with feeding, basic grooming needs, and kennel care
- Communicate clearly with the Facility Manager and pet parents regarding any behavioral or health concerns
- Deliver excellent customer service with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Serve as a pack leader—keeping the dogs happy, healthy, and engaged
What We’re Looking For:
- Must love dogs and be comfortable around dogs of all sizes and temperaments
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow directions with minimal supervision
- Ability to work on your feet for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks
- Team player with strong communication skills
- Prior experience in a doggie daycare, animal shelter, vet clinic, or pet grooming facility is preferred but not required
- Weekend and holiday availability is required
- Must have reliable transportation
