Our client is looking for an experienced Financial Planning & Analysis Manager to join a collaborative finance team. This role will turn financial and operational information into meaningful recommendations that guide business performance, planning, and strategic decisions. The position calls for a hands-on, detail-oriented individual who can build strong partnerships across departments, create clear reporting for leadership, and thrive in a private equity-backed environment.
Responsibilities:
- Create monthly and quarterly reporting materials that equip senior leaders, board members, investors, and lending partners with a clear view of financial performance.
- Interpret results by highlighting key business drivers, emerging risks, improvement opportunities, and practical recommendations for action.
- Design and maintain dashboards and performance metrics that track results across business units, locations, customers, product lines, and support functions.
- Conduct analysis related to pricing, profitability, margins, cash flow, and working capital to strengthen operational and financial outcomes.
- Partner closely with leaders in operations, engineering, supply chain, sales, and finance to provide financial insight that supports informed decision-making.
- Build scenario models, sensitivity analyses, and business cases to evaluate strategic initiatives, investments, and changing market conditions.
- Lead budgeting, recurring forecast updates, and long-range planning in coordination with functional and divisional stakeholders.
- Review actual performance against plans, explain variances, and refine forecasting assumptions and models to improve accuracy over time.
- Advance reporting and planning processes through automation, better use of financial systems, and more effective business intelligence tools.
- Analyze manufacturing and operational cost drivers such as labor efficiency, scrap, inventory, material spend, capacity usage, and absorption trends while aligning closely with accounting on reporting and planning assumptions.
- 7+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, corporate finance, or a related field.
- Strong capability in financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis.
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to build practical models, reports, and data-driven insights.
- Experience using FP& A and reporting platforms, including Adaptive Insights or similar tools.
- Proven ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance audiences.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional leaders.
- High attention to detail, sound analytical judgment, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
