Full Job Description
Position performs diagnostic, electrical, hydraulic, brake, suspension, and air system repair work, including scheduled preventative maintenance and necessary repairs to, trucks (light, medium, and heavy commercial/DOT-regulated vehicles), tractors and forklifts. Position works with a high degree of independence. Position also requires several physical movements including lifting, pinching, bending, reaching, climbing, and manipulating and handling objects. This position requires that you have your own basic hand tools. Diagnostic and high-tech equipment will be provided.
Job Summary
This is a mobile field mechanic position. You will be provided with an Ag Maintenance service vehicle. You will perform preventive maintenance inspection (PMI); troubleshoots, repairs, and rebuild major components on vehicles and equipment. Ensure accurate diagnosis and effective repair and/or replacement of components.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Diagnoses standard mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air system problems, utilizing diagnostic computers when applicable
- Performs preventive maintenance inspections and ensures the timely and effective repair of any problems identified during an inspection.
- Provides assistance, guidance and direction to other maintenance personnel.
- Interacts with customers/drivers to properly determine nature of complaint once assigned a task
- Utilizes key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available
- Works in accordance with all federal/ provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT)
- Performs other support duties as required to support operations
Qualifications
· 5 years of comparable work experience in diesel mechanics
· Legally eligible to work in the United States
· Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations
· Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
· Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Pay: $26.00 - $35.00 per hour
