American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a night shift position at a hospital and trauma center, requiring an active WI or compact RN license.

Work in the Medical Unit of a hospital and trauma center
-
Adult medical-surgical patient population
-
Night shift schedule (6:30P-7A) with 12-hour shifts
-
13-week assignment length
-
Every other weekend and holiday shifts required
-
Floating to other units may be required
-
Active WI or compact RN license currently in hand

Current BLS/BCLS certification required
-
Prior Med/Surg nursing experience required
-
Flu vaccination required

Education verification required for consideration

Utilize the nursing process while collaborating with interdisciplinary team members to care for patients

Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to approved nursing techniques, policies, and standards of care
-
Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient plans of care as prescribed by physicians and hospital policy, including patient and family instruction

Document care according to established standards

Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance

Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units and departments in support of a patient's longitudinal plan of care

Apply critical thinking to patient safety and experience, escalating concerns through the appropriate chain of command as needed
