Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Behavior Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will work closely with individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities, providing support and implementing behavior intervention plans. This role requires a strong commitment to implementing and role playing effective behavioral strategies, focus on clear communication, consistent routines, positive reinforcement, and understanding the underlying purpose of behaviors. This position includes data collection, and the ability to work effectively with students 6 through 22yrs of age.
Responsibilities
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
- Collect and record data on student progress and behavioral changes accurately.
- Conduct student assessments to identify needs and develop appropriate strategies for support.
- Provide direct care and support to students with autism and developmental disabilities in a non public school setting.
- Maintain confidentiality of all student records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals.
- Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills related to working with individuals with disabilities.
Qualifications
- Experience working with students with autism or developmental disabilities is required.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and experience handling student records is essential.
- Strong skills in data collection and understanding of student's individual behavior plans.
- Ability to provide compassionate student care while fostering a supportive environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with students, families, and team members.
- A background in psychology, social work, applied behavior analysis is required.
- Must be able to engage positively with students and demonstrate patience in challenging situations.
