Cocktail Server — San Ysidro Ranch
Position Overview
The Cocktail Server is an integral member of the Food & Beverage team at San Ysidro Ranch, responsible for delivering gracious, anticipatory service across our Speakeasy Bar. This role requires a warm and polished presence, a genuine passion for hospitality, and the ability to perform with composure and precision in a fast-paced, luxury environment.
Responsibilities
The Cocktail Server greets and welcomes each guest with warmth and professionalism, creating an immediate sense of arrival and belonging. They take beverage and food orders with accuracy and attentiveness, offering thoughtful recommendations and demonstrating familiarity with our cocktail, wine, and culinary offerings. Beverages are delivered promptly and with care, ensuring every guest interaction reflects the standard of service San Ysidro Ranch is known for.
This position is responsible for accurate cash and card handling, operating the point-of-sale system, and maintaining the integrity of all financial transactions. The Cocktail Server keeps their station impeccably organized and clean throughout each shift, adhering to all food safety and sanitation standards. They engage with guests proactively, anticipating needs, addressing concerns gracefully, and elevating the overall dining and social experience.
Collaboration with the broader F&B team, including servers, managers, and culinary staff, is essential to ensuring seamless, unified service from arrival to departure.
Qualifications
Prior experience in food and beverage service, preferably in a luxury hotel or fine dining environment, is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate possesses excellent interpersonal skills and a genuine desire to create memorable guest experiences. Familiarity with OpenTable or a comparable reservation platform is a plus. Candidates must be comfortable operating a point-of-sale system and handling cash transactions with accuracy. A solid foundation in food safety practices and a commitment to maintaining a clean, safe work environment are required. The ability to remain poised, professional, and solutions-oriented under pressure is essential.
