Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, and mobility support
- Monitor patient health by taking vital signs, observing for changes, and reporting findings accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Support medication administration and ensure adherence to prescribed care plans under supervision
- Facilitate engaging activities tailored to individual interests and needs to promote mental and emotional well-being
- Operate patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques safely and effectively
- Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary requirements and assist with meal consumption when necessary
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties such as cleaning common areas and personal spaces
Requirements
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings is highly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to observe patients carefully and monitor for changes in condition or behavior
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, autism spectrum disorder support, or neuro developmental disorders is a plus
- Familiarity with patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts and patient personal care assistance techniques
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications in medication administration or hospice care are advantageous
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform manual handling tasks; physical stamina is essential
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and documentation while maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines
