Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Teacher to inspire and empower students with diverse learning needs. In this vital role, you will design and implement individualized educational plans, foster inclusive classroom environments, and collaborate with families, specialists, and school staff to support each student's academic, social, and emotional growth. The ESE Teacher will work in an inclusive learning environment, providing specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs. The teacher will develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), ensure accommodations and services are met, and collaborate with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to support student success.
Responsibilities
- Inclusive Learning Environment:
- Foster a welcoming and supportive classroom atmosphere for all students.
- Implement differentiated instruction strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Utilize inclusive teaching practices to promote engagement and participation.
- Student Scheduling and Support:
- Develop and maintain a schedule for providing targeted support to students.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
- Provide one-on-one and small group instruction to address specific learning goals.
- IEP Meetings and Implementation:
- Conduct IEP meetings with parents, students, and relevant staff members.
- Develop comprehensive IEPs that outline goals, accommodations, and services.
- Ensure that all accommodations and services specified in IEPs are implemented effectively.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusive practices.
- Communicate regularly with parents to discuss student progress and needs.
- Work with school counselors, administrators, and other support staff to coordinate services.
- Organization and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and IEP documentation.
- Prepare reports and documentation for IEP meetings and reviews.
- Organize and manage resources and materials for effective instruction.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of special education principles and practices including IEP development and implementation.
- Proficiency in working with children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), hearing impairments, visual impairments, or other disabilities.
- Strong classroom management skills to create an inclusive environment that promotes positive behavior and engagement.
- Experience in curriculum development tailored for diverse learners across early childhood education through high school levels.
- Familiarity with learning technology tools that enhance instruction for students with disabilities.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and engaging families effectively.
- Ability to adapt lessons for students requiring speech therapy or occupational therapy interventions; experience in instructional design is a plus.
- Knowledge of behavioral health strategies including applied behavior analysis (ABA) and behavioral management techniques.
- Skills in tutoring, literacy education, math instruction, physical education teaching methods, and recreational therapy approaches.

Pay: $47,500.00 - $54,311.00 per year
