About the Role
We are looking for a dependable and flexible On-Call Delivery Driver to support our delivery operations throughout San Diego County.
This position is ideal for someone with an open schedule who can help cover additional routes, overflow deliveries, and last-minute assignments. Drivers may be required to use their own vehicle and must be reliable, professional, and responsive when work is available.
Examples of Responsibilities:
- Complete on-call, same-day, and overflow deliveries throughout San Diego County.
- Cover established delivery routes when needed.
- Pick up and deliver packages, mail, documents, tubs, and small boxes.
- Follow delivery instructions and communicate with dispatch.
- Provide updates and proof of delivery when required.
- Ensure all items are delivered safely, securely, and on time.
- Represent the company professionally when interacting with clients.
Preferred Credentials:
- Open and flexible schedule.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Reliable personal vehicle and current auto insurance.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Smartphone with a data plan.
- Strong communication, reliability, and time-management skills.
- Ability to accept assignments on short notice.
- Ability to take on more consistent routes if needed
Previous courier or delivery experience is preferred but not required.
Compensation
This is an Independent Contractor (1099) position. Compensation is paid per delivery, stop, or route depending on the assignment. Full rate details will be discussed during onboarding.
Reliable drivers may have the opportunity to receive additional assignments and more consistent delivery work as business needs grow.
