Job Summary
Cardinal Ritter Senior Services, a ministry of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of St. Louis, is seeking an individual to serve as the Vocational and Intellectual Wellness Champion. This role is responsible for designing, developing, organizing, and implementing a comprehensive Vocational and Intellectual Wellness Program for all levels of living at CRSS. Programming will promote engagement, lifelong learning, and purpose while honoring the dignity of each resident and aligning with the mission and philosophy of the Ministry.
Overview and Responsibilities
- Design, develop, organize, and implement Vocational and Intellectual Wellness offerings to all residents of CRSS.
- Will meet monthly and work collaboratively with the entire Wellness Team to design a well-rounded wellness program and create a community calendar.
- Establish communication and effective working relationships with other departments.
- Schedule educational talks on a variety of topics with outside resources.
- Take two (2) out trips every month (per level of living) to educational locations.
- Manage hobby groups, to include scheduling.
- Schedule and host two (2) crafts events per month (per level of living).
- Host a craft fair one (1) time per year with resident arts and crafts with proceeds to benefit Catholic Charities.
- Participate in department, interdepartmental meetings, and other scheduled meetings as they relate to Administration and/or resident care.
- Track participation of residents in all Vocational and Intellectual Wellness programming.
- Provide Vocational and Intellectual resources to all residents.
- Secure and maintain any needed supplies.
- Help assist with any employee wellness programming.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Experience Requirements
- Must have a Bachelors Degree in Recreation Therapy or a related field.
- Must have 3+ years experience working with older adults.
- Must obtain CDL license within 3 months of hire.
- Must become a PAC Champion within 6 months of hire.
- Must be CPR/AED/First Aid certified.
- Experience with teaching health and wellness classes.
- Ability to perform the required physical and sensory aspects of the position.
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
- Ability to manage Vocational and Intellectual Wellness budget.
- Knowledge of all corporate and facility policies and all Federal, State, and Local regulations.
- Must be able to perform requirements of position within regulatory guidelines and limitations.
Skills and Competencies Required
- Maintain CPR/AED/First Aid Certification
- Maintain CDL Licensure
- Strong knowledge of Dimensions of Wellness with Champion-level knowledge of Vocational and Intellectual Wellness.
- Utilize safety techniques and infection control practices in all aspects of task performances.
- Strong leadership and project management skills.
- Knowledge of current wellness trends and best practices.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with data analysis and outcome measurement.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.
- Proven track record in program development and management.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
