Beauty for Ashes Transformation Center | San Diego, CA
Do you want to join a different kind of group practice?
Beauty for Ashes Transformation Center is a trauma-specialized Christian counseling center in San Diego. We serve adults, couples, teens, and children working through depression, anxiety, PTSD, grief, and complex trauma. Our through line is that we bring faith into evidence-driven, up-to-date clinical methods, and we treat the whole person: psychological, physical, and spiritual.
We are growing our clinical team, and we are looking for an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist ready to build a full caseload alongside experienced clinicians.
What you will do
- Provide individual, couples, or family therapy to a diverse caseload.
- Bring a clinical specialty that expands what our team can offer clients.
- Work from evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches including CBT, ACT, grief and loss work, play therapy, and complex trauma treatment.
- Participate in weekly group clinical supervision, Thursdays from 12 to 2.
- Build toward full licensure hours in a clinically rigorous, faith-integrated environment.
What we are looking for
We hire clinicians who bring compassion, cultural sensitivity, and solid clinical and communication skills, and who share our conviction that the therapeutic relationship is at the heart of real change.
We are specifically interested in an associate whose specialty rounds out the team. Our clinicians already work in EMDR, ACT, CBT, play therapy, and grief and loss. A specialty we do not yet offer would be a strong fit, such as:
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
- Eating disorders
- OCD
- Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
- Depth in child and adolescent work
You are either EMDR trained already, or you are willing to pursue EMDR training with us.
What we offer
- A W-2 position with structured, high-quality clinical supervision. Supervision happens in house, weekly, and twice weekly once your caseload passes ten clients.
- Consultant-level EMDR mentorship. Our clinical director is an EMDRIA-Approved Consultant with Parnell Institute consultant credentials and close to twenty years of clinical experience, so EMDR training and consultation happen inside the practice rather than on your own time and budget.
- A steady referral pipeline. The practice actively markets for client flow and attends roughly thirty new client intakes each month across the team.
- Quarterly team trainings and a collegial team small enough that you are known.
- An intentionally designed office in San Diego, with a hybrid mix of in-person and telehealth sessions.
We are committed to supervising and mentoring clinicians as they build. Our clients come to therapy for anxiety, depression, burnout, childhood trauma and attachment wounds, grief and loss, relationship and intimacy issues, life transitions, and questions of faith and meaning. Many are high-functioning people who look successful on the outside and are struggling privately.
Requirements
- Active AMFT, APCC, LMFT registration in California.
- Master's degree in a qualifying field.
- At least one year of post-graduate clinical experience.
- Your own professional liability insurance.
- Genuine interest in trauma-informed, evidence-based, faith-integrated care.
- Ability to build toward and sustain a full caseload of sixteen clients per week.
- Reliability and follow-through in a growing group practice.
