Schedule: Monday-Friday
Hours: Approx. 35 Hours per Week
Duration: 2026-2027 School Year

Pay Rate: Up to $55/hr (based on experience)
Position Overview We are seeking dedicated and passionate Special Education Teachers to join an exciting new school program opening in Springfield, MA for Fall 2026. This Kindergarten through 6th grade program is designed to provide best-in-class educational and behavioral services for students on the autism spectrum. Teachers will be part of a collaborative team of 18-20 educators committed to delivering comprehensive, individualized support and creating meaningful learning experiences for every student served.
Essential Responsibilities

Provide specialized instruction and academic support to students with disabilities in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Develop, implement, and monitor student goals and accommodations.

Create a structured, supportive, and engaging classroom environment that promotes student success.

Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs.

Support students with autism spectrum disorders and significant behavioral needs.

Collaborate with related service providers, administrators, paraprofessionals, and families to ensure student progress.

Implement behavior intervention strategies and classroom management techniques.

Maintain accurate educational documentation and progress monitoring data.

Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings.

Promote student independence, social-emotional growth, and academic achievement.

Qualifications

Active Massachusetts DESE License: Teacher of Students with Mild or Moderate Disabilities (PreK-8), or proof of active licensure pursuit.

Minimum of one year of licensed Special Education teaching experience required.

Candidates with out-of-state licensure will be considered if actively working toward Massachusetts certification and taking MTEL examinations.

Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) preferred.

Experience supporting students with autism spectrum disorders preferred.

Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills.

Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary educational team.
