Overview:
CVP is seeking a Senior Oracle Developer to join our team supporting the Census Bureau. This is a temporary(1099) opportunity needed until November, 30th, 2026.
Responsibilities:
- Perform systems analysis, design, and development

Design and implement secure code for software applications

Perform testing and maintain large software applications

Follow Software Configuration Management techniques and practices

Perform iterative code development

Perform troubleshooting and supporting production applications

Assist other developers with technical solutions
-
Evaluate, identify, and present alternatives for software
-
Developing with relevant software languages (C, PL/SQL, Linux shell scripts)
-
Working with large, complex Oracle databases
-
Writing programs that exchange data with external systems in various formats (e.g. database tables, XML, ASCII, SQL-Loader, PROC*, etc.)

Conducting performance testing/tuning using advanced PL/SQL techniques, performing audit control processing, scripting, source control tools, production support, process audit control, data profiling

Troubleshooting at all levels: development, testing, and production, perform systems analysis, design, and development

Design and implement secure code for software applications

Experience in other programing languages such as Java

Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing publications

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Qualifications:
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust government security clearance (US Citizenship Required)

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related field of study; 10 years of relevant professional experience in place of degree

Requires 5+ years of IT software development experience

Experience with Oracle 19c Developer's Suite (Oracle Forms and Oracle Reports 12c/14c)

Experience with the software development life cycle

Experience working with Change Management Software (e.g., Jira, GitHub, ServiceNow)

Excellent client relationship, communication and interpersonal skills

Experience in handling all types of ETL data (e.g. XML, ASCII, JSON, CSV, fixed‑width, delimited, and relational data sources)

Experience with Advanced PL/SQL and ProC* Languages. etc.)

Excellent client relationship, communication and interpersonal skills
Desired Skills

Experience developing back-end components in Java, utilizing JDBC and middleware frameworks to enable data exchange between Oracle Forms/Reports and modern service-based architectures

Experience with cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), including experience working with PostgreSQL for querying, data integration, and interoperability between Oracle based and non-Oracle systems
1099 Pay Rate: $75-80/hr
