Position Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care to individuals with complex medical, developmental, and behavioral needs in a residential healthcare setting. The RN is responsible for assessing health status, developing and implementing individualized care plans, coordinating nursing services, supervising direct care staff, and ensuring compliance with applicable nursing standards, regulations, and organizational policies. This role promotes quality care, safety, dignity, and the highest possible level of independence for individuals served.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Perform comprehensive physical assessments and monitor changes in individuals' health status.
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapies in accordance with physician orders and established nursing standards.
- Coordinate and direct nursing care on an assigned shift while ensuring continuity of care across multiple residential units.
- Delegate nursing tasks appropriately and provide clinical supervision to licensed and unlicensed staff.
- Respond to medical emergencies and initiate appropriate interventions.
- Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, families, and outside healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and complete medical documentation in accordance with regulatory and organizational requirements.
- Monitor infection prevention practices and promote a safe, therapeutic environment.
- Educate individuals, families, and staff regarding health conditions, medications, treatments, and wellness practices.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and performance improvement activities.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, professional standards of nursing practice, and organizational policies.
- Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, and coordination of specialty medical appointments as needed.
- Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to nursing and direct care staff.
Qualifications
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current CPR/BLS certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
- Strong assessment, clinical judgment, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Proficiency in electronic health records and medical documentation.
- Ability to lift, transfer, and assist individuals as required by the position.
Work Environment
- Residential healthcare or long-term care setting serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and complex medical needs.
- Rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime may be required based on operational needs.

Pay: $38.01 - $45.78 per hour
Work Location: In person
