Job Summary:
We are seeking a Marine Construction Laborer to join our team, working under the supervision of the Marine Construction Foreman. As a laborer, you will be responsible for performing various tasks related to the construction, repair, and maintenance of marine structures. You will be expected to haul lumber, have basic carpentry skills, be proficient with hand and power tools, and follow directions efficiently while maintaining company standards of quality.
This is NOT an entry-level construction position. Marine construction or outdoor construction experience is required. Key Responsibilities:
- Material Handling: Carry and move heavy loads of lumber, hardware, floats, and other materials. Assist in unloading and organizing deliveries of construction materials and tools.
- Site Preparation: Help prepare job sites by clearing debris, setting up tools and equipment, and staging materials for the crew.
- Hand & Power Tools: Safely and effectively operate a variety of tools, including saws, drills, screwdrivers, and other equipment necessary for marine construction.
- Marine Carpentry: Assist in constructing and repairing docks, bulkheads, seawalls, and other waterfront structures using marine-grade materials. Perform basic carpentry tasks such as cutting, measuring, drilling, and fastening materials with hand and power tools.
- Assisting Crew Leader/Foreman: Follow directions from the Crew Leader and Foreman, complete assigned tasks efficiently, and assist with various on-site construction duties.
- Installation Support: Assist in the installation of piles, floating docks, gangways, decking, handrails, and other related structures as per project requirements.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), safe handling of materials, and adherence to company safety guidelines.
- Weather Conditions: Work outdoors in various weather conditions, including sun, wind, cold and heat. Be prepared to work on docks and near water in a safe and conscientious manner.
- Teamwork & Communication: Work as part of a team, communicating effectively with crew members and the Crew Leader to complete tasks efficiently and meet project deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Physical Strength & Stamina: Ability to lift and carry heavy loads of up to 75 lbs, work outdoors in various weather conditions, including on or near water, and work a full day.

- Construction Experience: At least 1-2 years of general construction experience preferred, even better if in marine construction or carpentry.
- Tool Proficiency: Ability to safely and effectively use hand and power tools such as saws, drills, screwdrivers, hammers, and tape measures.
- Basic Carpentry Skills: Understanding of carpentry techniques and experience working with wood, hand tools, and power tools.
- Communication: Ability to communicate clearly with team members and follow instructions.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to think critically, work efficiently, and make suggestions for improvements that align with the company’s goal of working smarter, not harder.

Work Schedule:
Due to the nature of Charleston Dock Doctors LLC work, this position will have varying start times and locations depending on current project requirements. Flexibility is required as work hours, locations, and project schedules may vary.
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour

- This role may require reporting directly to changing project sites as far as Edisto, Awendaw, Bonneau, or other surrounding areas. Are you able to arrive at assigned jobsites on time each scheduled workday?

- How would you describe your carpentry, construction, or marine-construction experience and current skill level?
- Do you have experience with any of the following: driving piles, dock framing, deck framing, pier repairs, floating docks, gangways, seawalls, bulkheads, or treated-lumber construction?
- What power tools or construction equipment have you safely used on a jobsite? (For example: circular saw, reciprocating saw, impact driver, drill, grinder, chainsaw, nailer, compressor, demo tools, or similar tools)
