You will provide personalized recommendations, assist customers in selecting the perfect cigars, and help create a welcoming atmosphere where both new enthusiasts and experienced cigar aficionados feel valued. Duties
- Assist customers in selecting premium cigars, cigar accessories, and related merchandise by providing expert recommendations and product knowledge
- Educate customers on cigar profiles, blends, origins, strengths, flavor notes, proper storage, cutting techniques, and lighting methods
- Provide guidance on cigar accessories including humidors, cutters, lighters, travel cases, and cigar care products
- Maintain an organized, attractive, and inviting sales floor, ensuring cigar displays, humidors, and accessory areas are properly stocked and presented
- Monitor cigar inventory levels and help maintain proper storage conditions to preserve product quality
- Maintain proper humidor conditions, including monitoring temperature and humidity levels
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws regarding cigar sales, age verification, and retail regulations
- Provide an exceptional customer experience by building relationships, remembering customer preferences, and creating a welcoming cigar community
- Handle transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems and process payments efficiently
- Stay informed on new cigar releases, industry trends, brand offerings, and cigar-related events
- Assist with cigar tastings, product launches, and customer education events when needed
Skills
- Strong knowledge of premium cigars, cigar brands, cigar accessories, and cigar culture
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to connect with both new cigar enthusiasts and experienced collectors
- Ability to educate customers on cigar selection, storage, cutting, lighting, and proper cigar etiquette
- Knowledge of cigar accessories including humidors, cutters, lighters, and maintenance products
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain inventory accuracy and proper cigar storage standards
- Ability to provide product recommendations based on customer preferences, occasions, and experience level
- Strong communication skills with the ability to create a memorable and personalized shopping experience
- Ability to follow retail procedures, age verification requirements, and compliance standards
- Experience with point-of-sale systems, inventory management, and retail operations
- Ability to handle customer concerns professionally and resolve issues while maintaining a positive environment
- Enthusiasm for the cigar lifestyle and a desire to share knowledge with customers and fellow team members
